Odd Behaviour in Order Detail screen

    Hi all

We're getting a couple of odd things happening when viewing orders.  Just wondering if anyone else has the same things.

    1. Whether you select to view the invoice or to view the delivery note, you get both of them.  We usually need to print both, so this actually works quite well for us, but seems a bit strange.

    2. There seems to have been some amendment to make a preview window appear when you hover over "Details" on the order list.  However, on my machine this causes erratic behaviour - the mouse cursor jumps all over the place - and the preview is partly off the edge of the screen.  I'm using Vista with IE7 and am all service packed up-to-date.

Neither of these causes major grief, although (2) is a bit irritating when you try to move the mouse across to the right to click the button next to an order.

    Anyone else having similar?

    Thanks

    Jeff

Hi Jeff Just been to check mine. 1. No, I only get either the invoice or delivery note. 2. I have the same as you Vista with IE7 and it's fine for me now. I love it, it will make it so much easier. Try it again Jeff and see if you can see what I see. I think what it is, they are upgrading and it can be a little erratic until everything is perfected. On my website when I change things to the layout it can take quite a few attempts to get it right. I always think if they're any customers on there they must think what on earth is going on this websites gone mad. Kind regards, Tracey Jeff how do i get paragraphs back, what am I doing wrong?. I even copied yours and wrote over your letters hoping that would work but it didn't.

    Hi Tracey

Are you in HTML view instead of design view?  Try swapping and see what happens.

Nope, the order preview thing is still doing weird stuff on my PC (and also on my colleagues, and he's still on XP).  Could it be screen resolution?  Is anyone from EWS reading this thread?  If so, have you got any ideas about it?

    Thanks and regards

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
How do I get back to design view please, do you know? I only know a little bit of html
It' fine for me, I'm on resolution 1280 x 800 on a laptop. To get down to see all the details I just use the cursor key.

    Yo Tracey!

I just have two buttons underneath the big text box - one labelled HTML and one labelled Design View.  I can toggle between them to my heart's content.

    Do you have those too?

I think you've answered the question re the preview.  I was using the mouse cursor but if I use the text cursor buttons on the keyboard, it works.  I still get lots of jumping around as I move the mouse around the screen, but I guess I can live with that!

    Thanks again

    Jeff

Yay Jeff, I've got it back. I am a numpty I realised I was playing with the profile area and changed things. I had changed it to default editor not the rich text editor, don't know why I did it. Isn't it funny I never thought of to look there but your reply triggered it.

I'm glad you've got it resolved. I just thought of it this morning. I'm supposed to be putting my stuff in sub-catagories but I'm really not in the mood today so I've been playing around.

That's the thing with this website building stuff I find though, you pick little things up as you go. Even with all the excellent knowledge articles and the new ones being done there is always little tips and things that you find out by doing, or someone mentions something on here and you say oh yes that's it. if that makes sense.

    Take care, Tracey

I've been experimenting now for 4 years with the EWS rpoduct builder, you do pick up technique all the time, the best thing to do is to play with all the tools as much as possible and find out what works best for you.

Also, have a look at other websites content; emulate some of the big stores on-line pages to give as much info about each product as possible.  Try to achieve a global format which can be applied to each page, and stick to it, helps reduce customer fatigue by presenting info in a consistent manner.

The linked product field is invaluable, helps direct customers to associated products or alternative choices they might not have found by themselves.

4 years into it, and still building the store..... !!
