    User Guide

    Hi All

Is there a User Guide anywhere which tells you how to use EasyWebStore?  For instance, I want to know how to use things like Articles and News etc properly and it would be good to read up on how it all works.

    Thanks and regards

    Jeff

    Re: User Guide

    Hi Jeff,

I am not sure if there is or not, there are a lot of knowledge base articles written.

I have used an article to customise my homepage and used the articles throughout my site. I was going to put a link to my site for you to see but I did that when I wrote about the lightbox images and then afterwards wished I hadn't in case anyone thought maybe people would think I was advertising rather than helping. If you have any specific questions I will help if I can, about anything.

Google likes articles and I put links in them to deeper categories or product pages.

Yes, the articles look great.  I'll take a look at your site and see how you've used them.

I still don't know the basics, though - like, how do you link to an article?  I've created some articles but they don't show anywhere - I guess I have to create my own links to them somewhere...??

There are also "News" items, but that's another story...

    :)

    Cheers

    Re: User Guide

    Hi Jeff,

They show in the category list near the bottom, the link is articles by default unless you change it to something else. And usually in the top menu bar if you have that turned on. This links to all your articles. You can change the link name in My products - Top level menu names to what you want. I am going to use the news items as my blog when I get the time.

I have created my own links to individual articles which is really easy with the text editor. I have used my own category display so to find the URL for the link I temporarily put the categories back on, click on articles, click on the relevant one and copy the URL for the link. All my articles have been indexed by Google even ones I haven't got links for anywhere. Easywebstore is really Google friendly.

I have put the links in my menu bar at the top, they are all links to articles except the home page link. Also in the custom text and logo area on the left. Anything that isn't a link to a product or category is a link to a page I've created with an article.

My home page main display is created with an article.

Another good thing I have just found, to display products in the order I want. I change the date filed which is at the bottom of the text editor. With the products I want at the top having the newest date and so on.

Sorry, I am not very good at explaining things so hope this makes sense. If any help is needed with anything I will try and help.

Hi we are currently upgrading the tickets / kb system and will add some more articles to it. I am also looking at producing some tutorial videos.
