Thought about a facility for issuing quotes to potential clients. Much of what we sell is small items costing a few pence; often a client will request price for a box-full etc, or have huge shopping list which might warrant a bit of discount.
There are 2 ways this might work (hopefully without over-complicating the system)
1) At checkout, an additional REQUEST QUOTE button is available (optional, of course); the order stays at Pending status, a coupon is created by the Administrator for the difference in price, and an email notification sent to the customer.
2) Administrator creates the Quote on-line by selecting one or more products then hitting CREATE QUOTE button, which then enables each line to show an input box for the appropriate % discount. As some lines are lower margin than others it would allow for variable discounts throughout the order. The Quote can then acquire CART status, details emailed to client who then checks out the cart as it is or adds other items.
Both methods would generate a formal Quotation using pre-set global T+Cs, validity, etc, plus fields for specific client instructions, with copies of all Quotes archived for reference.
Thanks again for an Ebay-shrinking service!
